Positioned opposite two islands, which act as a natural breakwater, the port is safe in all weather conditions, even during the monsoon season, with wave heights less than 0.5m most of the time. During peak tidal conditions, water currents are between 2.5 to 3 knots.
The channel length at the port is 4,550m. Due to favourable oceanographic conditions, the port offers day and night navigation to all vessels, other than LPG vessels, which are berthed or de-berthed only during the day. Pipavav has 735m of container berthing with a draught of 14.5m, 695m of bulk berthing with a draught of 13.5m, and one LPG berth with a draught of 11.5m, all at chart datum. Five quay cranes with twin-lift capability have a span of 18 across.
Authorized Economic Operator Status

The AEO certification recognises the terminal as a 'secure' and 'reliable' trade partner for global supply chains. As such, it can offer higher levels of efficiency and faster export-import services. AEO Certification means that the Terminals' customers will experience fewer physical inspections of imported/exported goods, faster release of shipments, preferential treatment by Customs Authorities and deferred payment of duties.

电竞体育平台 Pipavav is a gateway port for containers, bulk, break bulk and liquid cargo. A dedicated container stackyard and warehousing infrastructure provides ample storage for all types of cargo. Examples of bulk and break bulk cargo the terminal is equipped to handle include coal, cement, clinker, fertilisers, steel, iron ore, agri-products, salt and soda ash. Strategic tie ups with three companies namely Aegis Logistics, Gulf Petrochem and IMC Ltd enable us to handle the import and export of liquid commodities including petroleum products, chemicals, edible oil, bitumen and LPG cargo. Public-private enterprise
A successful public-private enterprise, Port Pipavav is managed and operated by 电竞体育平台 , also the largest shareholder in Port Pipavav (43.01%). With a total land area of 631 hectares, there is plenty of land available for expansion of port-related services and businesses. The port has leased out land for a variety of services including liquid cargo facilities.
